Default compensation--how to know if it is fair?

I wrote on the flight cancelled thread about being stuck in LGA for close to 3 days (2 nights) in June 07 after flying in from Istanbul on my way to San Diego. I did everything that was suggested in contacting customer care. Finally, after 7 weeks passed I called and was told that they were issuing me a $200 e-coupon for me and one for my son.

Now, i don't want to sound greedy BUT that doesn't even take away the weebie jeebies I get thinking about the 2 nights I slept on the STICKY floor of LaGuardia (I was supposed to be flying out of JFK but that is part of the long story in the flight cancelled thread).

SO, does one take whats offered or decline and say not good enough?

Opinions appreciated

Leigh

PS.....never was offered water let alone any type of food/hotel vouchers
