Our flight was delayed such that we could not make our connecting flight in Charlotte. Stood in a very long line for customer service to book a different flight. Had the option to book a flight much later in the day and be late to our dinner event or a flight to the closest airport 2 1/2 hours away by car. We chose the earlier flight to JAX and to drive. Went to that gate only to discover that the flight was CANCELED. We could have taken the other later flight but now it was too late. We were forced to take a much later flight and missed our event all together.
Believe me, this was not the only unreliable experience with AA. I used to say that USAir was the worst airline in the country. Ever since AA merged with USAir a few years ago, now it is AA that is the worst.
We live in DC and our daughter will play softball at FSU in Tallahassee. Because AA is the only airline flying into TLH from WAS, we have decided to rent an apartment during softball season rather than depend on AA to make her softball games. That's how bad it is.
