Group Travelers Ripped Off
I booked a group of 22 students from Jacksonville to London and was given a contract with base fare of $512 plus taxes and fees. The group accepted the contract and paid the deposit. When the final payment came due, Delta figured the taxes and fees to be $410.77. The taxes and fees on the exact same flights on Delta.com were $154.25. The group had no choice but to pay or lose their deposit. Delta's customer service and group department would not budge a penny on their fees. I understand fuel prices have increased and Delta is trying to recoup losses but it should be applied equally to all passengers. Group travelers book in advance in order to be on the same flight together and they pay their deposits in good faith. Delta unethically thinks they can then charge these people any amount they choose and they have no other option but to pay or lose their long awaited trip. Don't book group travel on Delta - you can't trust them!
