Angry More airline gauging

A new depth in airline gauging has been reached. A few months ago I used frequent flyer miles to purchase an international ticket to be used this September. Two of the segments are on Swiss Air(LX). I just called LX to select seats. I was advised there would be a $30 charge per seat/per flight. I asked if LX was the only airline to levy this fee. "Yes"' she said. What's next? Supplemental fees to embark and disembark?
