Paid $81 extra for luggage, got damaged, they won't repair
Dear Sirs: I have just returned from an Alaska cruise. The trip was wonderful, except for the rain. We were booked on Carnival's Spirit. We flew from GSP to ANC on Delta air line. All was wonderful in the going out and the cruise. There were seven in our party. On our return flight from VCR to GSP via Detroit, we flew Northwest airline. They charged me $81.00 for extra luggage, the same luggage that we had going out. The flight was an hour late leaving Detroit, and we were late getting to GSP. When we were boarding in Detroit, they announced there would be no rest room facilities on this flight. When we arrived at GSP, I went to get my luggage and they had torn one of the wheels completely off my 31" pullman. I went to the ticket counter, where I was told to go to file a claim, and was told by the person at the counter that they don't repair anything on the outside of any luggage. I got his name and his supervisor's name to call the next morning. They will not repair my damaged luggage, which also cost me $81.00 extra to get back. This was my first experience with Northwest. I have been on eight cruises now with different cruise lines and air lines, but this was a first. I will not travel anywhere again that uses Northwest as a travel connection. Do you know any other connections or anything I can do to get my luggage repaired.
PS I have the flight numbers and names if you need them. Thanks again
