Overcharging on booking due to an error on their website
I booked a flight trough BA website on the 8/3/2017 I went through the whole process including payment which I choose the pay with Pay Pal option, I received the notification email from paypal(transaction ID: O-5EM89695UN853393C) that British Airways had requested the payment of €1,122.32 however no notification from them directly and no booking reference. I waited 2 days and no communication from them, I then contacted customer services on the 10/03/2017 and I was told that the booking didn't go trough (even thoug they clearly sent payment request to PayPal) and that I had to book again the tickets, however she said that she could not honour the price even though is clear that is not my fault that something in the background of their website failed to process the booking on their end, as far as I was concerned I had booked and paid for my tickets, I don't understand how that is my fault? I now had to pay €1395.74 because the tickets had gotten more expensive an extra €273.42 over a mistake that British Airways is not owning to. I emailed a complaint and I got a response that my email had been passed onto the relevant team, is now been over a month from the incident and I still haven’t gotten even an acknowledgement of my complaint let alone a resolution. I am so disappointed with the lack of customer care in this situation.
