Southwest flight 760 from West Palm Beach to Providence landed in Tampa to board more passengers. This flight was due to arrive in Providence at 9:30 pm. Instead, all 36 passengers were bumped off the flight and made to disembark in Tampa and wait for another plane, initiating a three hour delay. What happened to flight 760???? Well it was hijacked and used for a Baltimore flight out of the same gate #38. That is correct, 760 became a Baltimore flight without previously notifying the unsuspecting passengers heading to Providence. No compensation for the bump says the airline.

I would try the DOT with this. That sounds suspiciously like involuntary bumping and that you are entitled to cash compensation. They clearly decided to treat you like cattle. Whilst they may have felt it was an efficient solution, kidnapping 36 passengers and dumping them in Tampa against their will seems extreme. To do so without compensation is outrageous.

The saga continued onto Providence. So, after being bumped off a perfectly good flight, the 36 passengers of Southwest Flight 760 waited nearly three hours. FINALLY, we board. We were already informed NO voucher for the bump, albeit not an "Act of God." We land in Providence at 11:55pm. Most of us have cargo, so we wait patiently for our baggage....NADA! NO FREAK'IN BAGGAGE! We now have to spend an extra 30 minutes to 1 hour in baggage claims filing a report! It is now 12:25 am the next morning! Bottom line, NO ONE TOOK OFF OUR LUGGAGE in Tampa!!! It went on to Baltimore! That is where the hijacked plane went while the 36 continued to get screwed by the system. The baggage claims people called in reinforcement, a uniformed Rhode Island cop stood behind the counter. We were ****** BUT everyone remained peaceful, so why the "riot gear?" You know that Southwest is getting a letter...several in fact!
