Total Irresponsibility of Turkish Airline!!!
"Turkish Airline" and and at the higher level "Air Canada" failed to
provide the promised service without any justification. In what follows, I provide a short summary of the issue.
On Aug 7, 2017, I purchased a ticket from Air Canada through a third-party website, Cheapoair.com through a friend of mine. It was a one-way ticket from Tehran (Iran) to Montreal (Canada) with two stops in Turkey and
France. Since I have a Canadian visa, I did not need any transit visa for my connection in France. Despite having the Canadian visa, Turkish Airlines (operating on behalf of Air Canada for part of this itinerary) refused to board me in Turkey (first stop) in the flight heading to France
(second stop) without no explanation. Even though I did my best to explain the regulation to Turkish Airlines, they refused to board me or to fix their mistake by providing me with another ticket. They provided no facilities or any proper guide to me (and other old lady who wanted to visit her children in Montreal!). We were left alone in the airport for more than a day without any explanation! I filed a complaint with Turkish Airline in the airport using their very few kiosk in Ataturk airport but actually they responded me days later with no acceptable answer with an email account that you couldn't even reply to! Air Canada also refused to resolve this issue blaming Turkish Airlines and asking me to resolve the issue with them. Since Turkish Airlines refused to provide a new ticket free of charge, I had no choice rather than to buy a much more expensive new ticket. The latter proves that the original ticket was never honored in any form, therefore, providing the basis for me to file this complaints. Given how Air Canada refused to get involved with this issue in the first place, I believe my friend and I have done sufficiently to resolve it with them. Unfortunately, we were not successful and that is why I decided to file this complaint with you.
