Dear SIR
FOR CONCERN TO EVERY AIR TRAVELER
Having just come through Hong Kong Airport Terminal 1 south section on September 3rd at approximately 6.30 pm,and to pass through the body scanners without any alarms considering I had on my person 2 x 350 grams of steel in each knee thats 3/4 of a kilogram. I wonder what else gets through. A Loaded Glock Pistol weighs less.
I complained to two separate security staff on duty there who showed no interest but said it was calibrated by the appropriate authority. I was not happy so asked at a counter for Security management where 2 people turned up. A male and a female asked where I came through ,photographed my boarding pass and left,
Prior to this I have traveled much of the USA and just completed 5 weeks in Europe and every time the body scanner set off the alarm, then I was put aside for a pat down and handheld metal detector check.
SO HONG KONG HAS RISKY SECURITY. DOES ANYBODY CARE, Regards Lyn Gentry. Hastings New Zealand email;
