Still waiting for Peruvian airlines reimbursement
I had a flight on July 21, 2018 with Peruvian. On that day there was a snow fall near Cusco and Peruvian canceled the flight. Up to that time Avianca and Latam had delayed theirs. After being in line for 3h for Peruvian with the answer that: "Due to weather conditions we cancelled all flights and we donīt know when we will fly again, it depends on the weather. We are not paying any accommodatioin to any passenger" This was a lady from the airline at the end of the line saying. So we, the passangers, started to look for solutions. I had a connection in Lima to Sao Paulo, Brazil on the same day, that I lost. This was on a Saturday, day I chose to come back to arrive on Sunday in Brazil to work on Monday. After 3h or 4h of the delay, Latam and Avianca announced they were going to fly on that same day. After hearing from a tour guide that Peruvian doesnīt have the proper instruments to fly in such weather circumstances I got worried and went to Latam to buy my ticket to Sao Paulo. Also because I was going to miss already one day at work. I had to stay two more nights in Cusco and on the Sunday, as I had checked on Peruvian website that their store in Cusco was going to be opened, I went there, but it was closed. I sent them 3 emails explaining my situation and asking for reimbursement mainly because those two other airlines flew and Peruvian didnīt. Strong reason for not accepting "bad weather condition" as an excuse. The answer to my email was the same. I sent an email to the Minister of transport of Peru who told me to send an email to INDECOPI to make a complain, but they just accept complains from Peruvians. I tried Airhelp where the only thing this person just told was: "Unfortunately I don't know of anything like that. Maybe you could try to contact the airline directly and ask from some kind of gesture of good will?". Then I decided to come here because this is unnacceptable. An airport that receives people from all corners of the world to visit Machu Picchu allows a company like without safety to operate. The Minister of Transport of Peru already had cancelled Peruvianīs license to fly, according to this website in Spanish (please search for "Peuvian Airlines ponen en riesgo a sus pasajeros" on the internet once itīs not allowed to insert links here). I told Peruvian about the negative image they have and they didnīt care because didnīt even answered me back. Letīs see. Iīm still claiming for my reimbursement without any weather excuses because this is just accepting not fulfilling with safety procedures.
