If you've ever gone to Disneyworld, Orlando, you know how far in advance you need to reserve and plan (i.e., at least 180 days) to make sure you get the reservations for restaurants and rides you want to experience. On Tuesday, May 12, 2015, we (grandparents, mom and 5 year old) were scheduled to fly from Boston to Orlando. I checked in our party of four the night before and everything seemed to be on-track. Low and behold, when we arrived at the airport to check our bags we were advised that there had been an equipment change (a smaller plane) and that our party of four were now booked on two different flights! Two of us on the direct flight and two on one that had a stop in Newark. Unacceptable!! Per the gate agent the changes were out of her control and made by a program. I tried to escalate there at the gate, without success. Note that the notifications from JetBlue went out at 6:36 am, and we were already on the road to the airport. We planned this vacation months in advance, had made reservations at T-Rex for mid-afternoon and for rides, using FastPass, at Magic Kingdom. JetBlue was unwilling to get us all on the direct flight and could only get all of us on flight that arrived more than three hours later. Sure enough that's what happened. Splitting the party wasn't right and cost me ~$400 for the daily pass at Magic Kingdom for a party of four. By the time we would arrived at the resort all our meal and ride reservations had lapsed. With a five year old staying out late isn't really an option, especially when we had two more days of activities planned. JetBlue needs to fix their rebooking program to not separate parties traveling together and properly prioritize their customers based on when they made the reservation. Nice way to start the special trip for my granddaughter - NOT! Thanks JetBlue! Luckily we were able to put the JetBlue experience behind us have a wonderful time at Disneyworld.
