Default Cancellations and LIES

I just had to get this off my chest and I'll also complain to the Government agencies. My daughter is an intern in Chicago for 6 months working, knows practically no one and had to have some surgery this morning. She drove herself to the hospital and we were to be there when she got to recovery and bring her home. She is very scared because she is alone.

I'm in Nashville, Tn and my original flight to Chicago was cancelled this morning due to the inspection fiasco but I thought I was smart and had us rebooked on a 6:10A departure putting us in Chicago at 7:45. We got to the airport at 5A and are still here. The 6:10 was delayed until 8:30 and now 9:30.

We are getting the runaround about what is going on. We were told the plane got in late last night and the crew needed so many hours rest time. Then we were told the aircraft didn't come in but that the crew was here. Now we are told that the plane is in Chicago waiting to depart to Nashville. I can't get a straight answer from anyone. Who knows when we will get there.

I've talked to the agents and they say everything else is full and we'll just have to wait. I think they don't want to send us to another carrier and lose the revenue. I'm very put out by American.

I've emailed their customer service but I don't expect to ever hear from them. I will think hard and twice about ever flying with American again.

If AA is not sending you out on another carrier then yea I would definitely complain, or try calling up their reservations to get rebooked on another carrier. (Unless everywhere is full, which is also a possibility). Watching the fiasco on CNN, looks like they are rebooking on other airlines, so keep pushing it or get a refund so you can book yourself on another carrier (unless your ticket is non refundable). Good luck
