Delayed
My husband and I flew from Oregon to Virginia with a layover in Chicago. Our flight from Oregon was a little behind, which placed us walking off of the plane at 8:15. Our connecting flight was supposed to begin boarding at 8:25. Chicago is a huge airport so we traveled through the airport rather quickly. We arrived at our gate at exactly 8:25 to find that our flight was delayed until 10. We waited for a few minutes and decided to grab a bite to eat. We did not feel that we had enough time for a sit-down and most of the kiosks were closing, so we went for McDonalds. We were gone maybe 20 minutes. When we returned we saw that our flight was pushed back another hour. I would have appreciated the delay if it were weather related or mechanical, but it wasn't. Our flight was delayed because the crew members were late. This is absolutely unacceptable. Everyone waiting at the gate was annoyed and I even overheard a couple of customers mention that they would never fly with United again. There were actually some customers that clapped when we finally arrived in Virginia. We ended up boarding our connecting flight the exact same time that we were supposed to land in Virginia originally. This placed us at a 2:00am arrival time. The plane was extremely tiny, old, and uncomfortable. To top it off, we hopped off the plane and waited on the tarmac for our carry-on bags. The "supervisor" was helping unload the luggage and she was completely rude. Not to mention she was throwing our luggage onto the cart. If this is how they treat our luggage right in front of the customers, I would hate to see how they treat our luggage when we are not there. We pay all of these fees and this is how we are treated.
On a side note, the 6 hour flight travelling to Oregon nor the 4 hour flight from Oregon to Chicago did not have any screens. If you did not bring an electronic device, you were going to be pretty bored.
