Delta changed the amount of the promised voucher
Hi All. New here with a question. We were flying home from Orlando to Spokane last Tues with a change of planes in Salt Lake City. Our flight from SLC to SPO was delayed on the tarmac due to an electrical problem. After 3 hours both on the tarmac and then finally in the airport, we were told the flight had been cancelled. We were given hotel and food vouchers, and the attendant at the gate announced over the PA that the passengers would each be given a $200 travel voucher from Delta to help with the inconvenience. Nothing was provided on paper, just the announcement.
Emailed Delta today to ask when the vouchers would arrive. The reply indicated they would send an e-voucher for the amount of $125 per passenger. Why the change? I emailed back to ask, and indicated that every passenger heard the amount given by the representative at the gate, but now I'm thinking we're all hooped since nothing was given on paper to prove what was said.
Is there any hope of getting the original amount offered? For our family, it would come to $800, we'd lose $300 if we only get what was offered in today's email.
Never had this happen before so don't know the chances. I'm thinking, after reading here, that they are slim.
Thanks.
