Jet Blue lied and then screwed me
I booked a trip for two for a 70th birthday from Tampa to Boston in January 2014. I made arraingements for people all over the county to meet us for this birthday. At 3:30 am the day of the flight which was leaving at 1:57 (this had been changed multiple times) we received an automated recording that our flight has been cancelled due to weather. I called Jet Blue and was told by a representitive that the soonest we could get out to Boston with them was two days later. Now mind you the trip was leaving on 6/12 and returning on 6/16. cutting our trip in half. I already had reservations paid for, a car paid for and people expecting us as a surprise. I quickly called our back up airlines Delta and got on another flight for the approximately same time. The Jet Blue flight cost 576.00 and the Delta was 1083.00 so there was a significant difference in cost. I called Jet Blue back and even though I was told all of the moneys would be refunded I only was refunded 476.00. On top of this when I was at the Delta gate awaiting the boarding of the flight a woman and her husband overheard me talking and approached me asking if we had been booked for the Jet Blue flight. I told her "yes" and said it had been cancelled due to weather. She looked at me funny and said she was told it had been cancelled due to mechanical problems. This makes it quite obvious to me that someone is being untruthful. I would expect ALL of my money be refunded and Jet Blue to compensate me for some of the cost of the replacement tickets. When we arrived in Boston as we were taxiing to the gate we could see Jet Blue flights landing on the run ways. Jet Blue NEVER made any attempt to help us other than offering a replacement trip in two days. I am VERY dissapointed in Jet Blue as I have been a loyal customer in the past.
