Angry Lost Baggage

After making me wait at the airport for over 10 hours until they cancelled my flight due to mechanical difficultes, they lost my luggage. I haven't seen it since Tuesday. They tell me to be patient. They gave me $75 to buy some things. I am not from where I went so have no cloths or toiletries. What can you buy for $75 and now they say they have my bag, but are not sure when I will get it. Flying is a bad experience. United Airlines has treated me like an animal.

U S airlines are not allowed to limit the amount you spend on delayed baggage items. All "reasonable" costs must be covered. So, you need to buy what you need and submit the receipts for reimbursement. Period

Default Good to know.

Good to know, but the rules, however few there are, don't seem to matter to airlines. I will give it a try. $75 is not a lot for one day, let alone four. Thank you.

Finally got my bag back after 4 days cracked. They tell me I have to bring it to the airport to show them, an hour away. Any ideas besides just buying a new bag?

Every airline requires you to present a damaged bag in person. If it's new, it might be worth a trip to the airport. Depending on where you are, UA has a supply of brand new replacement bags and they'll give you one on the spot, if you like it. If not, you'll have to go through the hassle of replacing it (if it cannot be repaired) and getting reimbursed. Be sure the agent makes a "damaged bag" report and gives you a copy so you'll have some reference.

Default Lost / Delayed luggage

United Airlines is one of the worse airlines. It has been 5 days now, since they have lost our luggage and are so complacent and lazy in trying to ensure that the luggage reaches us. They are accepting little responsibility, their staff are not trained properly to take care of these situations and they don’t have the necessary means to track the lost luggage. Most of the calls get transferred to an office in India, who could care less about resolving any problems. Sadly, the US office is not any better either. Perhaps, the only thing they are good at, is loosing customers.

Thumbs down flight delayed and lugguage lost

The flight 1668 arrived EWR at 9:10pm which was a delay for an hour and a half. The delay caused me to miss the last flight back to home, and I was rebooked by UNITED with a flight two day later. I was forced to rebook another flight to an airport which was 60 miles away, and it would arrived at 11pm that day as I had important schedule on the following early morning. However, my bag did not show up at the Baggage claim when I arrived. The office of baggage service was also empty. I had to wait for another half hour for someone to register my loss at the UNITED baggage services. It was midnight after the paperwork was filed. So far, my bag is still missing.

This is the fourth horrible experience that I had with United Airline in the last four months. I did not know the merged/new UNITED would provide such despicable service. I regret to be a silver member of UNITED, and booking several flights with this new UNITED in advances. I had flew all my reservations with UNITED this year, and I certainly won't fly with UNITED. It is really sucks, and it is absolutely the worst airline now!

Thumbs down Another Lie of UNITED

After all kinds of flight delays, I was forced to get on a flight which arrived at an airport far from my home. However, my luggage did not arrive on the same flight. I had waited for half an hour to report to somebody at the UNITED BAGGAGE SERVICE with my address and phone number at midnight. I was repeatedly promised that the baggage would be sent to my provided address. However, in the evening of the following day, a message from UNITED asked me to go to the airport to pick up my loss bag. UNITED lied to me once again. This airline will do everything at the expenses of the customers for its PROFIT. UNITED--The worst airline.

Size doesn't matter when it comes to delivering! It seems.

Quite unbecoming for a supersized Airline to neglect the finer part of their own business. When things go wrong, the least you do is to look and act disorganized. Hope your bag was located. Nonetheless, they owe you an apology and explanation!
