What The Hell Is Wrong With Delta ?????
OK, so I travelled from London, UK to Tampa on 18 December 2009. My baggage never turned up....approx $2k worth of baggage / clothes / Xmas gifts etc.
I am DISGUSTED by the lack of response from Delta....really unhelpful staff, no response from head office to x3 separate letters....they are basicaly ignoring me now. I don't know what to do next....my insurance company won't help either as they say the airline need to sort this out ?!?!? SOOOO ANGRY....I can't afford to replace the stuff they have lost. Anyone had similar experiences with Detla / Northwest ??? |

Are you kidding me... they are the worst US airline. Look at my3cents, elliott.org and this site.. they are appalling.

Thanks for this....am really worried I'll never get my money back. Seriously can't believe it....I thought US customer service was so much better than UK but obviously not.

If they are ignoring you, get their attention. Gather all your documents and print any emails you have and file a small claim. Here is a site I found with information about how to do it and it even has a link to get the forms.
You said you flew into Tampa but I'm not sure that's where you live. Tampa is in Hillsborough County and I'll provide the link to their clerk that didn't seem to work for me. Maybe it will for you. Florida small claims info Hillsborough County Clerk

Yes, the rules and policies favor the airlines unfairly. I do not dispute that. |

You can file a claim in Small Claims Court in the UK. Delta are legally responsible for your loss and as your journey originated in the UK and your ticket was bought in the UK, there is no problem filing here. The costs are relatively small and you can do it all online. You can also complain to the Air Transport Users Council. You can claim for your losses.. hopefully you will have some receipts for the gifts. In addition, you can claim your additional costs of purchasing new items at your destination.
Here are the links: For the online Small Claims court, you can file your claim here. You do not have to appear and it is likely neither will Delta. However, if they fail to respond you will have a default judgement against them. You can then do to Heathrow and impound their aircraft if you want to until the claim is settled!! That would be great TV! https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/csmco2/index.jsp The Air Transport Users Council is a quango I think but can also progress your claim on your behalf. http://www.auc.org.uk/ |
