Angry Paid 4 first Flt 260

I booked on August 13, 2019 2 first class seats from Anchorage Alaska to Corpus Christi Texas. After looking it up at the end of Septmenber, I noticed that the leg of the trip flown on Alaska Airlines (an Alliance member) was only booked Economy. I called Alaska Airlines, who told me there were 'points' seats available on that flight. When I called American Airlines Customer Service, the guy listened to my complaint, put me on hold for 5 minutes, then came back on and said he could not do anything about it. I called Alaska Airlines again, talked to a supervisor who told me that the request for seats from American Airlines was sent through as "economy" only. American NEVER sent a request through for First class seats that were available. I filed with the BBB who accepted the complaint and has corresponded with American Airlines, who continues to deny any wrong doing. I also have many written correspondence with Nicole Beaman, Executive Liaison with AAdvantage, who continues to avoid the fact that AAdvantage did not request the first class seating. A real 'BAIT AND SWITCH' operation taking place. Ms Beaman's answer - cancel my booked flight, re-book now for an additional 30,000 miles each ticket and I can get my first class seats on American Airlines. A true rip off.

The question is how many miles you were charged in the first place. There are 3 tiers listed for award travel on the American website. Next spring there will be more changes as per the Alaska website.
