Default Death In The Family

I bought 2 Basic Economy tickets on American. My wife had an aunt to pass away and I am a pallbearer. I tried to change these tickets to a later time/different departure city due to location of the funeral and was willing to pay more. Was told no can do. So, I had to purchase new tickets. Meaning I’m out my $366 for original tixs!! I couldn’t help that a family member died! HELP!
