COMPLAINT: Incompetent aa staff at jfk

We had multi city ticket booking, JSJHDS, starting from JFK NEW YORK to Austin, New Orleans to Calgary and Calgary to New York and paid 1531.00 chf for 2 tickets. When we reached JFK after our international flight from Geneva, we were unable to check in, so went to the ticket counter and they tried for 2 hours and could not check us in. The agent at the ticket counter gave a ticket for the first segment alone, canceling the 2 and 3 segments and a voucher for 800 dollars for the canceled segments, taking from us 700 dollars JFK TO AUSTIN. We did not want a voucher, we wanted to travel as planned and the voucher was cheating money from us. The ticket from JFK TO Austin only cost about 300 dollars for 2 tickets, what happened to the 400 dollars?

We went to Austin airport ticket counter and spent another 2 hours for they could not use the voucher to book us back in the tickets that were canceled. They reissued tickets under another record locator TRFZEY for the remaining 2 segments. However, since Calgary to New York segment was by west jet and the ticket not available, rerouted us to SFO, CA. We had to change our International flight connection from JFK TO SFO costing us another 600 dollars each ticket.

The calgary to SFO ticket was routed via Los Angeles instead of giving us a direct flight with a transition time of one hour at LAX. The LAX flight came 30 minutes late, with change in terminals at LAX, 30 minutes was not sufficient to catch the connection to SFO and spent the night at the airport since neither American Airlines nor West Jet would take responsibility.

What a mess and chaos with American Airlines. The staff at JFK caused so much of problem for us by canceling our 2 segments out of our 3 segments and giving us a voucher saying "this is the best we can do". Change fee for international flight and all nighter at LAX and trauma is all we got for flying AA.
