Srilankan Airlines-Charging excess baggage just for extra 3 kgs
Hi All
April 19th I had a flight from Mumbai to Colombo. I was charged 2000 INR or 30 USD for having 3 extra kilos over the stipulated 30 kg. Its pretty normal to have few extra kilos since its a shopping destination. I have flown before as well from Mumbai with Jet airways and other destinations with several airlines with few extra kilos but have never been charged like this and more over hand luggage was weighed and even 800 grams over the stipulated 7 kg was not allowed and they were adamant on it. This was my first experience with such strict military like behavior from an airline with weight. Kindly like to bring this to the attention of fellow tourists to avoid Srilankan Airlines before been charged hefty fines like these. Mohamed Himas |
