Delta Airlines HORRENDOUS EXPERIENCE
I have been a frequent flyer on Delta for years, platinum level at one point, but after my last and increasingly frustrating experiences I QUIT. They canceled our outbound flight from NYC to Ohio on December 23 at 11:00PM for NO REASON (no weather issues, etc.) after we waited 3 hours, then told us they could not rebook the next day except on a flight that had layovers and didn't arrive in Ohio until 5pm. And my partner and I would have to fly separately! We were able to rebook ourselves on another airline within 5 minutes. hmmmmmm. Our return flight on December 27 was canceled due to snow in NYC, and we were offered NO options for FOUR DAYS except to drive - which we did, and it cost us over $500 and took 12 hours - and now they will NOT reimburse that cost! So, we are out over $1200 in airline tickets, cars, baggage fees (that we wouldn't have had due to FF status on Delta) and after lots of phone calls and emails they have offered a refund of the flights and a credit for future travel - which will NOT help pay the $1200 credit card bill and we will never fly Delta again anyway, so it's useless. What happened to customer service, and what good does FF status do these days? NOTHING!
