Default Ticket canceled when requested to rectify

Hi

Had booked an airfrance flight with family from Morocco Casablanca to South Africa Johannesburg via Paris and Amsterdam. When I got to the checkpoint i realised I had booked 2 stops within Shengen area and needed a shengen visa to do that. Security kindly spoke to his manager and requested that I quickly go to the Airfrance consultants just next door and change my ticket to one stop as he had already sent them an instruction to do so and I can board the flight which was okay with me.

When I got to the consultant all was well he had gotten the instruction and within a few minutes he notifies me that my ticket has been canceled and he is unable to get back to it so I should send a refund request and he left me at the counter and handed me a call center number if I had any issues with what he just told me. Tried to call the number and their offices were closed. I could not see where he went at that point and could not board as my ticket had been deliberately canceled in front of me.

Fast forward I call the customer care number following day to advise them on what happened and that I still want to use my ticket to board on the day. They advised me that there is no reason that had been put for cancelation and therefore it's difficult for them to do anything with the ticket and I have to speak to France SA consultants. I booked another flight, came back to SA and spoke to an Airfrance consultant telephonically who advised that I was liable for a full refund and she initiated the refund.

After a few days only 500 pounds out of 3900 pounds was paid back into my account and up to date they do not want to pay the rest of my refund and it's been over a month now.

I feel this is daylight robbery and I am paying for the airline consultant's incompetence. No one authorized them to cancel my ticket.
