Today I had my 9 and 8 year old fly from Toronto to JFK airport as unaccompanied minors. When my sisters were at the other end they were told that one of them could meet them at gate 25. My one sister went to gate 25 and was told the plane was now to be landing at gate 24. She waited until the arrival time and no plane, no delta personnel present so she called my other sister who was at baggage and told her to check the monitors. She was notified from my sister that the plane landed early at gate 2. She then RAN to gate 2 and no kids. She found someone who said oh they must be at gate 15 "holding room". My sister was out of breath from running as she has a heart condition and the agent who was bringing her to the gate laughed at her and told her to relax. Meanwhile, my kids were put in a holding room and told by the two agents that they'd be RIGHT BACK BECAUSE THEY WERE GOING TO GET A DRINK!!! We had purchased a cell phone for my son to carry on the trip and fortunately he called his Aunt a bit panicked about the fact that they weren't there to meet them like we told them they would be. By the time my sister got there there were agents there and my son was so happy to see her he didn't communicate properly right away that they were left alone. Once i learned i called Delta and the Delta reservation supervisors have informed me I need to call the head office in the morning because they cannot help me. I'm so upset that I don't want my kids to fly delta again.
