Etihad - Surname Change on non-refundable Ticket
 

Hi,

I have a reservation for my parents for 13th Nov 2012. My mother's surname on the ticket is her maiden name. Unfortunately on her passport, her last name is different from that on the ticket. This needs to be changed before they travel. This reservation was made via Expedia .
We are in touch with Expedia who do not have any policy on such name changes. They are trying to reach out to Etihad but are unable to get through. Etihad call centers are not reachable either. We've been on hold for hours together in vain

Could someone help us here?

i am not sure if there is a an airline representitive office in your city if the office and your home are not distances far apart ,may be try to visit the office with all pertaining documents and explain the situation to them and ask for an assistance
that is all i could think of ,hope it is practical
any way it is better to find the error earlier than on c/i spot

Hi Cazzi,

Is the policy on the name change that you had mentioned still valid?

We just got off the phone with Etihad and Expedia.

Etihad does not allow the name change without cancelling and rebooking the ticket.
Expedia would not refund the ticket.

Kindly help us here.

Etihad Name Change on Non-Refundable Ticket
 

This has been resolved.
Thanks to Etihad Call Center Rep's Sumit & Ramona.
Although it took about 3-4 days of continuous follow up, hours together on HOLD, and disconnected phone calls, we were able to get the name change done for an additional $75 charge.

The first few agents that we spoke to kept refusing to do a name change beyond 3 letters. Then after quoting the ETIHAD name change policy as per CAZZI, they were willing to do it. However, they were trying to reach the ticketing team which took almost another day.

Finally our patience has paid off and the issue is resolved.
