My in laws traveled to New York from Key West for their 60th anniversary. Their baggage went on an extended trip for four days to Central America. Clothes for their surprise luncheon was in the baggage.

On their return flight, due to American's delay on the first part of their trip from NY to Miami, they missed their flight from Miami to Key West. The reason they missed the connecting flight is because the attendants who were taking them via wheelchairs stopped along the way to talk to their friends. Their bags went array and they were forced to travel 25 miles each way to retrieve them.

The attitude of the American personnel was horrible. We entrusted our parents ages 81 and 83 to them and they failed.

i would definately complain to the airline about this situation. MIA is serviced by a contract company for the wheelchair and they don't like to hear about these things.
